About A Breath on Dying Embers – The Emotion
Without doubt A Breath on Dying Embers, DCI Daley 7 has been the most difficult in the series so far to write. Nothing to do with not knowing what is coming next, or running out of ideas – the reverse, in fact – just the pure emotion of the content.
Here we find Jim Daley at his most vulnerable. Problems seem to attack him from every angle, in personal and professional ways.
The question is, can he stand the strain?
Embarking on the writing of a book is always a daunting prospect. Though as a writer you may be confident that this is the best yet, the little voices of doubt gather round.
Fortunately, everyone who has read this, including publisher and editor think it’s the best yet, and that, my friends, is always a relief. The minute you hold the finished, edited and formatted manuscript in your hands is a most rewarding time for any writer.
And what about the new cover, and this website??!!
Over the next few weeks, I’ll begin writing a BRAND NEW short story, only available in bi-weekly instalments on this website! So keep those glimmers on denzilmeyrick.com.
I have plans for merchandising, signed books – all sorts. And via this platform, I hope to give you an insight into what goes on in my life and work.
Hope you enjoy it all!
